Mission, Vision and Values
The Department of Food Science and Technology (LCA) provides adequate knowledge in food science and technology to undergraduate and graduate students, preparing professionals who meet society's expectations regarding food quality and safety, as well as, technological innovations for offering new products to the consumer market, allowing adequacy and excellence of the agri-food industry.
The Department of Food Science and Technology holds most of the disciplines of the undergraduate course in Food Sciences and offers disciplines to the Agricultural Engineering course. The Department of Agri-food industry, Foods and Nutrition also holds the graduate program in Food Science and Technology. The teaching and research subjects concern Quality and processing of animal foods, Post-harvest and processing of vegetal foods and Agroindustrial Technology - production of ethanol, sugar and beverages.
